Urban-scape Neighborhood
Large Scale Residential Housing / Mixed-use Urban Development
Project Vision
Urban-scape Neighborhood is a large-scale residential housing project and a bold reimagination of the contemporary city block — a dynamic, multi-functional neighborhood where architecture, green urban planning, and public space design intersect. Designed by Arber Shala Architects, this visionary urban development embodies principles of human-centered design, sustainable growth, and vibrant placemaking.
The masterplan introduces a diverse urban fabric composed of residential, commercial, and community-oriented spaces that encourage social interaction, inclusivity, and flexibility. The design prioritizes walkability, connectivity, and openness, while expressing a distinct architectural identity that is both timeless and context-aware.
Architectural Concept
The neighborhood is shaped as a porous urban grid, composed of distinct architectural volumes that vary in height, materiality, and spatial rhythm. Each building block maintains a unique visual language — ranging from pixelated facades to elegant terracing forms — while maintaining coherence through a shared design framework.
A defining feature of the project is its integration of green roofs, elevated terraces, and modular facade systems, contributing to urban biodiversity, passive cooling, and improved air quality. The facades are articulated with a refined palette of whites, greys, ochres, and muted reds — animating the public realm through color, texture, and shadow play.
Urban Integration
Located along a dedicated tram line and public transit hub, Urban-scape Neighborhood is designed as a fully transit-oriented development, promoting sustainable transportation and minimizing car dependency. Through a network of public plazas, mid-block pedestrian passages, and elevated bridges, the project offers a multi-level experience that seamlessly connects indoor and outdoor spaces.
At its heart, a series of green communal courtyards serve as shared public spaces — supporting leisure, play, and community engagement — while strengthening the project’s ecological and social impact.
Key Design Features
