Arber Shala
Arber Shala is an accomplished architect with a diverse and inspiring journey in the world of architecture.
Born in 1975 in Gjakova, Kosovo, Arber’s passion for architecture led him to pursue studies at the University of Prishtina’s Department of Architecture. However, his academic journey was interrupted by the 1998-1999 Kosovo War.
Undeterred by the challenges, Arber Shala’s determination remained unyielding. In 2009, he received a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture from AAB University in Prishtina, where he combined his studies with those from the University of Prishtina. He furthered his education and earned a Master’s Degree in Architecture and Urban Design from POLIS University in Tirana, Albania, in 2012.
Arber’s architectural career began right after the Kosovo War when he joined the German GO, THW – “Technische Hilffswerk” as a Junior Architect. In this role, he was actively involved in the reconstruction of housing units, social, cultural, and educational projects. His dedication and expertise led him to work with another German NGO, ASB “Arbeiter Samariter Bund,” where he served as Chief Architect and Local Project Coordinator, managing various reconstruction and community development projects.
Over the years, Arber’s passion for architecture and desire for creative freedom led him to establish Arber SHALA | Architects as a freelance architect in 2004. Since then, he has become the author and co-author of an extensive range of projects, spanning different natures and scales. His portfolio boasts projects in residential, social, cultural, administrative, economic, mixed-use, urban, and landscape design.
In 2009, Arber became a proud member of the Architects Association of Kosovo, contributing to the architectural community and advancing the profession. His dedication to the field is further evidenced by his representation for Kosovo in Metropolis Associated, Architecture & Planning, based in Tirana, Albania.
As Head of ASH|A, Arber plays a significant role in coordinating essential projects, showcasing his leadership and vision.
